Breidablik (Japanese:ブレイザブリクBreiðablik) is a weapon appearing inFire Emblem Heroes. It is used by the player character to summon Heroes. A parallel version of Breidablik called theDire Breidablik (Japanese:死銃ブレイザブリクDeath Gun Breiðablik) was introduced in Book III, as the Breidablik from the ruinedAskr thatLíf came from.

In the Love of a King update on February 4, 2021,Kiran was added as a playable character forMjölnir's Strikes, and Dire Breidablik was added as acolorless tome and their personal weapon. In the Forces of Will update on May 6, 2021, six other versions of Breidablik were added for Kiran to use, each a different weapon type:sword,lance,axe, andred,blue, andgreen tomes.

History

Breidablik is a legendary item which was used to summon the legendary Great Hero, the player.^[1] It summons Heroes rather than firing projectiles,^[2] and is used by the player to summon them to aid Askr in their attempt to stopEmbla's invasion.

Dire Breidablik is a parallel version of Breidablik, originating from the ruined Askr that Líf andThrasir also originate from. To stave off the invasion ofHel's forces, the people of the ruined Askr intended to perform the Heart's Rite with Angrboða's Heart; however, breaking the seal on the heart caused everyone in that world to die, and Breidablik to be left in the blood temple that housed Angrboða's Heart.

During the events of Book III, Líf and Thrasir—working as generals for Hel—steal Breidablik so that it cannot be used to kill Hel.Alfonse,Sharena, andVeronica learn of the history of the ruined Askr and seek out the divine weapon to stop Hel's invasion of their own world. After defeating Líf, who held the Breidablik, they go to confront Hel. During the battle, Veronica performs the Heart's Rite, turning the parallel Breidablik into the black Dire Breidablik. Kiran then uses it to kill Hel and save Askr. Afterwards, it remains in Kiran's possession.
