Blazing Shadows/Script
TheMysterious Man returns to theWorld of Blazing, where he comes into possession of the tome ofBramimond of theEight Legends. In this tome, he reads a passage on a "wicked god" which, despite having perished, lived on through the bloodline of the royal family ofEmbla, unknown to them. Powerless to resist the wicked god's influence, several generations of Emblian royals had become mere puppets of the god. The tome lists various epithets of the god—"Devourer of Royals, Ruin Borne upon Wings, The Original Demon"—but, frustratingly for its reader, stops short of revealing the god's true name. The Mysterious Man remarks that theDragon's Gate on the isle ofValor, acts as a gate to other worlds, and so certain inhabitants of the World of Blazing may also have witnessed the events in Embla. He sets off once more to continue hs search.
Elsewhere in the World of Blazing, a number of Heroes have fallen under the control of Embla, forcing theOrder of Heroes into action once more. First, they face the mercenaryRaven, his retainerLucius, and sisterPriscilla. According to the contract, if Raven fights off the Order, Embla will give him the power he needs to take his "revenge". Lucius pleads with him to reconsider, but Raven refuses. The Order defeats him, and he leaves, vowing to one day get his revenge.
The next group faced by the Order includesNinian,Rebecca, and the Sword Demon,Karel. Rebecca is hopeful that the Order will be strong enough to break the contract, while Karel simply wishes to fight, and win. They are defeated, and Ninian thanks the Order for freeing them.
The final group includes two members of theBlack Fang—the young mageNino, and the feared Angel of Death,Jaffar. Jaffar vows to defend Nino, by eliminating their enemies, despite Nino's pleas to reach a peaceful arrangement. The battle is again won by the Order, freeing the two from Embla's grasp.
After the battle, the Order prepares to return toAskr, but before they can depart, Nino follows them, and givesAlfonse a letter from his missing friend,Zacharias. In the letter, Zacharias explains that he happened upon a secret regarding the Emblian royal family, and that he had to depart in secret to learn more. Though his investigation is ongoing, he has a message for Alfonse:Veronica is not the true villain, but rather an individual named Bruno—a relatively unknown prince of Embla, according toAnna. Anna comments that Zacharias would be the best suited among the Order to infiltrate Embla, and regrets that he left without telling anyone, but assumes that he must have had good reason not to do so. Alfonse worries about what has become of Zacharias since he sent the letter, but is now more hopeful than before that Zacharias will return eventually.
