Blaiddyd (pronounced /'bleɪθɪd/[key], Japanese:ブレーダッドBlaiddyd) was one of the10 Elites who fought in theWar of Heroes that led to the formation of modernFódlan.

Biography

Blaiddyd was one of the 10 Elites who aidedNemesis during the War of Heroes. Like the other Elites, he had received the blood of aNabatean from Nemesis, which manifested as aCrest; as well, he had received his ownHero's Relic, the lanceAreadbhar. At some point, he established a noble house in the land that would later becomeFaerghus, and started a family; this led to his bloodline and Crest to continue persisting through Fódlan's history. During the War of Heroes, he fought alongside Nemesis againstSeiros and her army, but lost. Blaiddyd was later hunted by theAdrestian Empire and killed, but his descendants were allowed to live and maintain power in Fódlan, both to keep the war from going on any longer, and also so that the truth of the Crests and the Relics would not be known.

IfByleth chose to lead theGolden Deer, those who slither in the dark's millennium-long plan for revenge against Seiros lead to his resurrection in Imperial Year 1186, alongside Nemesis and the other Elites. As part of the army raised by Nemesis, he cut a bloody swathe through eastern Fódlan alongside them in an attempt to reach Seiros at Garreg Mach Monastery, but he was slain for good by theLeicester forces led by Byleth andClaude.

Trivia

  • Each of the 10 Elites can fight at least one of their playableCrest-bearing descendants except Blaiddyd, whose only playable Crest-bearing descendant—Dimitri—is not available on the Verdant Wind route. As the Riegan family is related to the Blaiddyd family, Blaiddyd is capable of fighting a playable descendant in Claude, though not one bearing theCrest of Blaiddyd.
