TheBlade Lord (Japanese:ブレイドロードBladelord) is anadvanced class exclusive toFire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. It is the final class ofLyn, one of the game's lead characters, promoting from herLord class by use of aHeaven Seal. With access to bothswords andbows, the class possesses a very similar statistical build and stylistic flavoring to theSwordmaster, with elements of theNomadic Trooper.

The Blade Lord possesses average-to-high statistical caps across the board, with an emphasis onskill andspeed; with only minor variations, it shares these caps with male Swordmasters. The class – and by extension, Lyn – also has exclusive access to two unique weapons: the anti-cavalry and anti-armorMani Katti, and the anti-dragonSol Katti. The class's access to bows also provides it with a degree of greater versatility, though the low startingweapon level and the access to exclusive weapons does lower the chances of this access proving to be of much use in most scenarios.

Trivia

  • When using theSol Katti, the class sports a unique battle animation; this was unused in the Japanese version of the game due to a programming error that incorrectly set the animation to play when Lyn usesDurandal.
  • In leaked pre-release builds ofThe Blazing Blade, the Blade Lord has a unique battle animation for using the Durandal, which does not exist in the final game. As Lyn cannot use Durandal in these builds, the animation is inaccessible; this suggests that the idea of Lyn being given access to Durandal herself was pursued early on to the point of the relevant animation being completed, but was scrapped at a similarly early stage.
