(Redirected fromBlack Magic)
Not to be confused withdark magic.

Black magic (Japanese:黒魔法Black magic) is a weapon type in theFire Emblem series appearing inFire Emblem Gaiden, its remakeFire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, andFire Emblem: Three Houses. InGaiden andShadows of Valentia, it comprises the games' offensive spells, and is generally analogous to other games'tome weapon type. Along withwhite magic, black magic makes up the broader magic weapon type in the original NES release, but it is split from it in the remake.

InThree Houses, black magic is tied to a unit'sreason skill level. Unlike inGaiden andShadows of Valentia, black magic is not the sole offensive weapon type, as white magic incorporates light-based offensive spells, anddark magic—also based off reason, though much rarer—includes many spells not present in either prior game. Black magic inThree Houses is generally comparable toanima magic in other games.
