TheKnight (Japanese:アーマーナイトArmor Knight), known as theArmored Knight inThree Houses, is aclass of heavily-armored foot soldiers. Introduced inFire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, they have appeared in some form in every title since; inThracia 776,Radiant Dawn, andEngage, Knights do not directly appear, being divided into a set of three or four variations each wielding a different weapon type: theLance Armor,Sword Armor,Axe Armor and, only in the Jugdral duology,Bow Armor.
Knights are defined by their status as bulky armor units, possessing very highdefense andHP, and also above-averagestrength. However, they are limited by their lowspeed, lowresistance, lowmovement, and harshterrain penalties. Knights also have higherconstitution than other classes.
InFire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, Knights were not able tochange class; this was changed fromFire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem onward, where Knights were connected into a new class change line with theGeneral; this remains the case in almost all of its appearances. InFire Emblem Gaiden and its remake,Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, they are a second-tier advanced class;Villagers have the option of promoting toSoldiers, which promote to Knights, which in turn promote to the third-tierBaron class. InFire Emblem: The Sacred Stones,Awakening, andFates, in addition to the General, there is also the option of promoting them toGreat Knight.

- InSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate, theBlack Knight andEdelgard - Five Years Later spirits grant a skill named after the Knight class that lowers movement speed, greatly raises defense power, and slightly raises attack power. However, it is still called by its Japanese name, "Armor Knight", in English.
