Apocalypse (Japanese:アポカリプスApocalypse), also known as theElder Revelation (Japanese:黙示の闇Revelation's Darkness) is adark tome introduced inFire Emblem: The Binding Blade. It is one of the legendary weapons of the continentElibe, forged inthe Scouring to battledragons, and was wielded byBramimond of theEight Legends.
An unrelated and unusedblack magic spell of the same name appears inFire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.
History
As with the other eight legendary weapons, Apocalypse was forged by humans during the Scouring for use byBramimond of the Eight Legends, designed to pierce the defenses of dragons, and during battle its power was part of the cause of theEnding Winter. After the Scouring's conclusion, Bramimond sealed Apocalypse away deep within theShrine of Seals, their residence until their death.[1]
According toMelady, rumours of the existence of Apocalypse and of its purpose as a defense mechanism for the Shrine regularly circulated amongBern's soldiers.[2] By the time Roy's army had defeated GeneralMurdock and reached the Shrine, a detachment fromBern's army led byPeres, a lieutenant of Murdock, had set up to defend the Shrine's interior and the tome. After the army's defeat and the evasion of the chamber's many traps, Roy obtained the tome. Initially unfamiliar with it as it, like its wielder, had little known about it, the tome was identified as Apocalypse byElffin.
