The Ancient Ring was, according to talesClair was told as a child, made by a magically advanced kingdom said to be underground.

- The ring's massive +40 bonus to resistance may be in reference to the fact that certain rings in the originalGaiden boosted stats to the maximum value, 40. For example theAngel Ring andSpeed Ring set the character'sluck to 40 or the character'sspeed to 40, respectively.
