Archers likeNorne tend to consistently be very accurate, because their goodskill stat and the highaccuracy of theirBows gives them high hit rates.

Hit rate oraccuracy (Japanese:命中hit) is a calculation determining the accuracy of aunit's attacks and their chance of successfully striking and harming their opponent. Hit rate is calculated primarily using the unit'sskill stat and their equipped weapon'shit stat, and depending on the individualFire Emblem series game may include other factors such as theirluck stat and bonuses awarded bysupports,skills, and theweapon triangle.

Hit rate can be loosely divided into two separate calculations: a unit'sbase hit rate, which is calculated first from the unit's stats and typically displayed on a unit's profile, weapons and other bonuses, and thebattle hit rate, the calculation used and displayed in actual battles which takes into account the opponent'savoid.

If any bonus is not relevant, the bonus in question is taken to be 0.
Bow range penalty is only relevant for units attacking withbows from further than 2 spaces; in such a case, the user suffers a penalty of [20 × (distance from target − 2)]; onMaddening, the total penalty is increased by 10 points. Bow range penalty caps at 60 on Normal and Hard, and at 70 on Maddening.[1]

Range penalty only relevant for units attacking withcannonballs from further than 3 spaces; in such a case, the user suffers a penalty of [10 × (distance from target − 3)].[2]

Battle hit rate

In all games exceptThracia 776, the minimum possible battle hit rate is 0%, while the maximum possible battle hit rate is 100%. An attack cannot be acritical hit unless it hits, thus even if thecritical rate is 100%, a unit not always land a critical hit. They can also be blocked byPavise orDual Guards depending on the game. In all games fromThe Binding Blade onward, the displayed battle hit rate is not accurate; for more details, seetrue hit.

The battle hit rate for offensivestaves is an entirely separate calculation based on theresistance of the target and themagic stat of the staff's wielder; for this calculation, seeResistance § Calculations.
