Beginning log

At one time, theMacedon region was ruled by theDolhr Empire. 100 years ago the whole continent was controlled by the dragon tribe, who sent numerous slaves to these undeveloped forests. The slaves were forced to excavate ruins and construct the country. Many people could not find food, were forced to work, and died from abuse. Amongst such tragic conditions, finally one youth stood up. His name wasIote. He and his companions escaped from the forests and fought, riding dragons, to continue the battle of liberation. AfterDolhr's fall, the slaves established their own country at these rich and newly developed lands. And the heroicIote was encouraged to become its first king. Afterwards the Kingdom ofMacedon was feared as the land of dragon knights, and that was how it was born. However, this strong country not only lost its PrinceMichalis, said to be the second coming ofIote. But now, even the "Red Dragoon", PrincessMinerva, has been lost.

Strategy

This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody.

Mystery of the Emblem

Deploy all of your bow units andLinde to take care of theDracoknights. The ones to the east will attack when provoke, so use this to your advantage by baiting them in and killing them two at a time.Palla can also aid in this as she can three-shot with herSilver Lance, though she will also have to kill the thief before he destroys the village. Don't worry about the Dracoknights in the center of the map: they only move if you visit the armory, so Palla andCatria can freely fly in and kill them for their items, and the player can visit the armory on the turn they seize to avoid provoking them.

There are two paths to reach the village withJulian: the one through the center of the map, and one winding around. The central route is the fastest, though if the player wants to grab theSilver Axe the distance to Julian's village is roughly equal. Grabbing the second Silver Axe is recommended if the player doesn't want to sell theHammerne staff as it will allow them to buy a second class change item in the chapter 5 secret shop, though if the player is willing to sell Hammerne the Silver Axe can be comfortably skipped as it will let the player comfortably afford 3 promotion items.

New Mystery of the Emblem

Deploy several bow units to take care of all the Dracoknights. Take care of the eastern three Dracoknights by baiting them forwards and then using bow users and mages to kill them on player phase, then repeat this with the right three. Palla can help take care of Dracoknights, though she will have to do a lot of combat in the north between the Thief she needs to kill and the reinforcements. Make sure to take advantage of the Forts with Palla, both to provide healing and to blockCavaliers from spawning.

The western Dracoknights' AI changes between difficulties:

  • Normal and Hard: The Western Dracoknights will only move if the armory is visited or if you attack them. Take care of them once the eastern Dracoknights have been eliminated.
  • Maniac and above: Outside of the westernmost Dracoknight, all of the western Dracoknights will be provoked alongside the left three eastern Dracoknights. They won't attack until turn 2 enemy phase due to their positioning, so send your units who aren't busy killing the eastern three Dracoknights to take care of them. Make sure to move units towards them and move Palla away so the Dracoknights head south. The westernmost Dracoknight can be taken care of by sending a bow unit and a unit who can take a hit on enemy phase ahead of Marth.

The first village visited will give Marth a Bridge Key. If Marth is recruitingBord he will be better off running around the map to reach Julian, andMatthis will deal chip damage each turn he is provoked untilJulian can recruit him. The bridge is still useful for getting units who can't keep up with Marth, due to their lower movement or being busy taking care of the easternmost three Dracoknights, to help clear out the cavaliers and Lykke.

In order to access the side questShadows Behind the Scenes, the player must either have cleared the Prologue losing no more than one unit, or clear this chapter in a certain number of turns. The turn count of the latter requirement varies by difficulty, as follows:
