A Knight-Filled Sky/Script
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light
Opening
| “ | Maria and Minerva's home, Macedon, is the birthplace of wyverns. It was known as a bountiful land of peace. That changed when Prince Michalis aligned his goals with those of Dolhr… against Minerva's wishes. He turned Macedon's wyvern knights to war, striking fear into hearts across many lands… As Marth and his allies approach, the amassed wyverns blot out the sun. | ” | — Chapter 22 Opening |

House
Man: A great sage lives in the village to the north. He keeps to himself though! I've never met him. Nobody has!
Village
With Starsphere and Lightsphere
Gotoh: Marth! You have done well to make it here. I am Gotoh. As instructed, you have brought me the Lightsphere and Starsphere. I now grant you the only magic capable of countering Imhullu, Starlight. Take it and bring an end to the wickedness of the Dark Pontifex, Gharnef.
(Received Starlight)
Without both Starsphere and Lightsphere
Gotoh: Marth! You have not heeded my words! I require the Starsphere and Lightsphere both. Without them, I cannot create Starlight for you. I do not think you can defeat Gharnef… If you cannot claim Falchion from Gharnef, you have little hope of defeating Medeus. If you still wish to try, you must gain much in experience and reach the pinnacle of your strength. That is not all… You must also gather mighty blades like Gradivus, Mercurius, and the Devil Axe. Unless you make these preparations, Medeus's defeat is scarcely possible. This is the harshest road to victory. Are you truly willing to walk this path? Think long and hard on this decision. Choose wisely.

Michalis initiates a battle
Michalis: Damn you, Minerva! I will not be put down! Now, quake in terror before my wyvern knights!
Ending
Malledus: Prince! We have discovered the location of Thabes! Far north of Khadein in the desert of Mamorthod lies the city of illusion… None who have entered Thabes have returned… or so it is said. Prince… what should we do?
Marth: Malledus…in order to retrieve Falchion and save my sister, we must step boldly into danger. Gharnef! I vow to liberate the beauteous land you despoil!

Introduction
| “ | The Macedon that Minerva and Maria remembered best was one of peace: a quiet, prosperous kingdom famed for the flying beasts favored by its elite dracoknights. But such peaceful days would not last, as Prince Michalis's ambitions plunged their homeland into a vile alliance with Dolhr. His sisters' objections fell on deaf ears, as he mobilized the kingdom's airborne legions at Dolhr's behest. A concert of wingbeats signaled their approach at each battle, striking fear into the hearts of all who opposed them. And when they arrived, their numbers were enough to blot out the sun, dooming their victims to die in Dolhr's long shadow. But even as the war's tide shifted in the League's favor, Michalis and his Dragoons stood firm, ready to make their final stand. As Marth approached the Macedon Aerie, that same shadow was now cast on him, a single star in the night sky... | ” | — Chapter 17 Intro |

Opening
(Michalis flies to the village)
Michalis: Lord Gotoh, the League's forces have arrived. This place will soon become a battlefield. Leave. You needn't endanger yourself by remaining here.
Gotoh: Why not just end this folly now, Michalis?
Michalis: Folly? What folly?
Gotoh: You loved Minerva, and she loved you as well. You studied together, trained together, dreamed together... You dreamed of a bright future for Macedon, one that you would have been able to realize if you had only worked together. Macedon could have become a truly great kingdom—greater than even Archanea, perhaps—but now you've made that impossible. You let yourself be deceived by Gharnef's honeyed words, his promises of power, of an easier path to it. And look where that path has led you. You have torn your country apart, and your family with it.
Michalis: ...I cannot undo what is done. My father's blood will always be on my hands, just as Minerva's betrayal will be on hers. But you are far too hasty in your assessment: I have not reached the end of this path yet. There is still a battle to be fought today. I have taken out an heirloom of the Macedonian royal family for just such an occasion:Iote's Shield. So long as I carry it, the League's arrows might as well be tipped with wool. They can't hope to shoot me down. And that upstart prince... No, he has long since proven his strength. Prince Marth of Altea... I'll kill him with my bare hands! I'll make him pay for his part in Minerva's betrayal. I'll stop the League in their tracks. That will be my final act as Macedon's king!
Gotoh: I see... Then we've nothing more to discuss, do we? You will see this path to its bloody end, as you deserve. Then fly, Michalis! Fly, and atone for your sins!
(Michalis returns to the castle)
Village
With the Starsphere and Lightsphere
Gotoh: Ah, Prince Marth! I see you've done as I asked and brought the Starsphere and Lightsphere. Well done indeed! Come, hand them over. You're a lucky one: few have witnessed my spellcraft firsthand before. Now, watch... ...There. It is finished. The only spell that can penetrate Imhullu's endless shadows,Starlight is born! No darkness can withstand its explosive radiance. Not even Gharnef, no matter how invincible he believes himself to be. Use it well, Marth. Stop that fiend, and put an end to his evil ambitions for good.
Starlight obtained!
Without the Starsphere and Lightsphere
Gotoh: Marth, where are the Starsphere and Lightsphere? Did you leave them in storage? Or did you truly not find them as I asked? Whatever the case may be, I cannot forge Starlight without those two holy orbs. And without Starlight, Gharnef truly will be invincible. Falchion will be lost to you forever! Facing Medeus without Falchion will be an excruciating task... But not impossible, I believe. If you hope to even scratch his hide, you'll need every ounce of strength you can muster. Train until you can train no further! But raw strength is not enough. You must use only the most powerful weapons as well, such as Mercurius, Gradivus, and Parthia. Only then will you have a chance, if a slim one at best. Are you truly prepared for such an ordeal? I urge you to carefully consider the path that lies ahead, before you advance. This is not a decision to make lightly.

House
Old Woman: Apparently, a great sage currently resides at the village to the north. Why he's staying here of all places, your guess is as good as mine. He's not exactly sociable, from what I've heard. Hardly talks to anyone! I doubt he'd tell you if you asked.
Battle quotes
Fighting Michalis
Michalis: Damn you, Minerva... But don't gloat just yet. My Dragoons and I still rule these skies!
Defeating Michalis
Michalis: Ngh... So this... is how my dream dies... Forgive me... my people...
Ending
Malledus: Prince Marth! Your ever-faithful seeker,Malledus, has pinpointed the location of Thabes! Gotoh informed me himself. Far to the north of Khadein, within the heart of the Mamorthod Desert, lies the phantom city. But... surely you've heard tales of that dreaded place. None who venture into its depths ever return... Must we go there?
Marth: Need you ask? Of course we will go! Gharnef hoards the Falchion, and holds my sister hostage! There are no other foes more pressing than him now. I will not rest until I see Gharnef defeated and my sister safe! His ambitions are a blemish on this once-beautiful world. I wish to restore that beauty, as it was before this war. Come! It's time Gharnef paid for his crimes! We make for Thabes at once!
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon
Introduction
| “ | The Macedon that Minerva and Maria remembered best was one of peace: a quiet, prosperous kingdom famed for the flying beasts favored by dracoknights. But then their brother, Prince Michalis, succumbed to his lust for power. Despite his sisters' adamant opposition, he swore allegiance to Dolhr; and when Macedon's Dragoons took flight, the world suffered. Even now that the tides had turned, Michalis took position for one last stand. Dracoknights filled the sky end to end, eager to pluck Marth from the Earth. | ” | — Chapter 22 intro |

During battle
(Michalis flies to northern village)
Michalis: Lord Gotoh, the League has begun its attack. I wish for you to move someplace safe until the fighting has ended.
Gotoh: Why not just end this folly now, Michalis?
Michalis: Folly? What folly?
Gotoh: You loved your younger sister so much. It pains me to see you quarrel. If you and Minerva had worked as one, Macedon might have become a great kingdom- greater even than Archanea, perhaps. But instead, you let Gharnef trick you into destroying your family, and your kingdom with it.
Michalis: ...I cannot undo what is done. My father's blood will always be on my hands, just as Minerva's betrayal of her brother and country will be on hers. And Macedon has not been destroyed, not yet. So long as I carry Iote's Shield, the League's arrows cannot fell me.
Gotoh: Very well. And if you win? What then?
Michalis: If I win, I will tell you. Right now, my only goal is to gut that Altean prince who leads the League. My pride as Macedonian king rests upon it.
Gotoh: I see... Then we've nothing more to discuss, have we?
(Michalis leaves)
Gotoh: The weight of his father's murder threatens to crush him...Poor boy. ...Poor fool.
Houses and villages
- Villager: A great sage lives in the village to the north. He's not very sociable, though. Hardly anyone ever sees him.
Village
(Visiting Village with one or no Orb[s])
Gotoh: Marth, Marth, why did you not heed me? Why did you not bring the two orbs? Without them, I cannot make Starlight for you. You will not be able to break through Gharnef's Imhullu magic, not take Falchion from his clutches. Without Anri's sword, your battle with Medeus will be fraught with peril. If you still mean to face him, you will need all the strength you can muster, every advantage you can find. If you have weapons like the sword Mercurius or the lance Gradivus, the fight may not be lost... Hmm... I, too, may be able to help in some other way. Let me think on it. Regardless, your quest has just become more difficult than you realize. I hope you are ready.
(Visiting Village with both Orbs)
Gotoh: You have the Lightsphere and Starsphere with you? Well done! Now I can create Starlight for you.
(A chime is sounded)
Gotoh: ...There. It is finished. Take this with you; it is the only magic capable of breaking through Imhullu. Use it to stop that fiend Gharnef once and for all.
(Received Starlight)
Against Michalis
Michalis: Made it this far, have you? Don't gloat yet. My Dragoons and I still rule these skies!
(With Minerva)
Michalis: Minerva, I have missed you, Sister. Let us embrace one last time.
Minerva: Michalis...
Michalis: Well? Strike! A moment's hesitation spells death on the battlefield. I know I taught you better.
Minerva: You will not lay down your lance and walk the right path?
Michalis: Don't be a child. There are no right paths; just mine and yours, two that will never cross.
Minerva: Very well. Then you leave me no choice. Embrace you I shall, Brother!
(With Maria)
Michalis: M-Maria? What are you doing here?
(With Palla, Catria or Est)
Michalis: The Whitewings? Ha! Come to try and slay your king?
(With Marth)
Michalis: I've been waiting for you, Altean whelp. I swear on my crown, you will die!
Defeating Michalis
Michalis: Aaagh! I am finished. Forgive me, my people.
Ending
Marth: First General Camus of Grust....Now Prince Michalis of Macedon. Men of such promise...Had the times been different, the two might have led illustrious lives.
Malledus: Yes, Prince Michalis was a brilliant man with great things ahead of him. But in the end, the rashness of youth did him in.
Marth: Only because Gharnef found his weakness and exploited it. Until we stop that fiend, this spiral of misery will never cease.
Malledus: Then shall we go to Thabes? Lord Gotoh said the city lies someplace far to the north of Khadein.
Marth: Yes, in the heart of the desert...
Malledus: Thabes is an old city... None in recent memory have gone there and returned alive. Within its walls remain many powerful apparatus crafted of long-forgotten magic. Lord Gotoh believes Gharnef is harnessing their power, and that is why he wields such influence over the continent.
Marth: And he has Imhullu as well...This will be a struggle.
(Malledus leaves)
Marth: Still, Gharnef's reign must end. The world was so much more beautiful before he painted it red...
