is from the hand of one
who knew and loved him
from his cradle to his grave.
The kindness of his disposition
the generosity of his character
and his high and refined sense of
moral right endeared him to his friends
His highly cultivated literary taste
his mind well stored with ornamental
and useful knowledge.
His calm and profound judgement
and his noble chivalry of character
placed him in the councils of the nation
in the proud rank of the distinguished
men of his time
He lived and died
without fear and without reproach
