F. E. MacCollum Succumbs at 83; Ran Auto Agency
Frederick E. MacCollum, 83, retired automobile dealer, died yesterday morning in his home, 119 South St., Elbridge, following a two-month illness. A life resident of Elbridge, he operated the Fred E. MacCollum Ford Agency 46 years. Mr. MacCollum was a 50-year member of the Jordan Lodge 335, F&AM; chairman of Draft Board 59; member of the advisory board of the Camillus branch of Marine Midland Bank; past president of the Elbridge Board of Education. Mr. MacCollum was a former Democratic supervisor of the Town of Elbridge; a 1935 Democratic candidate for the State Assembly; member of the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Association Board; former member of the Elbridge Board and Chamber of Commerce. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edna Gayer MacCollum; a son, Gayer MacCollum of Elbridge; two brothers, Ray of Rochester and Lewis MacCollum of Liverpool; five sisters, Mrs. Harry Elden, Mrs. Harry Van Dyke, Mrs. Robert Powers, Mrs. Harold Ackerman and Mrs. George Walliser of Rochester; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at Elbridge Community Church, the Rev. Ronald S. Place, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Elbridge. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at his home. Contributions may be made to the Elbridge Community Church Memorial Fund.
