Jno M Johnson, Chief Surgn. of Cleburne's Division of my corps who is an energetic and capable officer and as Acting Medical Director thoroughly versed in the duties of the position, Medical Director of this Army Corps and respectfully ask that the appointment be confirmed by the proper authority. I am General Very Respectfully Yr Obt Svt, W. J. Hardee, Lieut General"
