Dryden Kuser was born on September 24, 1897, in Bernardsville, Somerset County, New Jersey. He was the son of Anthony Rudolph Kuser and Susie Fairchild Dryden Kuser and was raised in a family with political, military, and civic connections in New Jersey. His early life in Bernardsville placed him within a community where public service and civic involvement were longstanding family traditions.
During the First World War, Dryden Kuser served in the United States Naval Reserve Force. Following his military service, he entered public life in New Jersey. He became active in Republican Party politics and was elected to the New Jersey State Senate, representing Somerset County. His legislative service established his reputation within state government and public affairs.
In 1942, Kuser relocated from New Jersey to Reno, Nevada. The following year, in 1943, he was appointed director of the Nevada Taxpayers Association, a position he held for approximately five years. While residing in Nevada, he became involved in civic and organizational leadership, including service as district commander of the American Legion, membership on the board of governors of Kiwanis of Reno, and participation on the legislative and national affairs committee of the Reno Chamber of Commerce. During his fourteen years as a Nevada resident, he was also engaged in the real estate and insurance business.
In January 1956, Dryden Kuser returned to New Jersey, where he resided primarily in Sussex County. His later years were spent away from elective office, though he remained identified publicly with his earlier service in state government and civic organizations.
Dryden Kuser died on March 3, 1964, at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan, New York County, New York, at the age of sixty-six. Funeral services were held in Bernardsville, New Jersey. He was buried at Saint Bernards Cemetery in Bernardsville, Somerset County, New Jersey.
