DEATH OF HON. GEORGE K. REX
Judge George K. Rex died at Wooster, Thursday morning at 3 o'clock, of disease of the kidneys. He was in his office Wednesday, and, after returning home in the evening, was suddenly stricken down with his disease, lingering only a few hours.
Judge Rex has been a resident of Wooster for 36 years, and during that time has been a prominent member of the Wayne County Bar. He was twice elected to the State Senate, in 1852-53 and 1868-69, and occupied the Supreme Bench, three years, being appointed thereto by Governor Allen to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Judge Stone, and was subsequently elected to the same position.
He was 65 years of age.
He was Past Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of F.&A.M. of Ohio, and was one of the most prominent Democrats in the State.
He was a native of Canton, Stark County, Ohio.
Akron Masons are preparing to attend the funeral which will be held on Saturday.
