Daniel Dunglass Home b.23 Apr 1861 Montville, New London, CT, USA-d.29 may 1940 Montville, New London, CT, USA. He was the son of William H. Home 1836-1917 and Susan J Bradford 1830-1914. He had a brother Charles Andrew 1858-1932. On 16 Nov 1884 he m. Ada I. Woodmansee (Holmes), daughter of Soloman Woodmansee and Delia Chapel. They had four daughters and one son; Lillian Idelia 1888-1902, Estelle Kelsey 1891-, John Bradford 1895-1974, Susan Fitch 1899-1981, Jeannette Adelia 1901-1986. Judge of Probate, First Selectman 1902-1908, having been re-elected a number of times, Member Connecticut State House of Representatives 1909-1910, Served 9 years as Tax Collector and served several years as Constable, Town Clerk, Town of Montville, New London Co., CT. Republican, Member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows - Uncas Lodge, No. 17, A.O.U.W. of Montville, of Thames Lodge, No. 22 I.O.O.F. of Montville, held all offices, past grand, and was counselor and treasurer of America Council No. 84, O.U.A.M. of Montville, held all offices, past councilor. He was a highly respected member of the Committee on Excise. Member of the Montville Congregational Church, Known as an efficient and enterprising Progressive Farmer of Scottish Ancestry. He attended Montville District Schools and Worcester Academy - he left the academy at age 16 to work on the home farm, continuing until March 1897, when he took possession of the John Randolph Rogers farm, comprising 220 acres. There was no more up-to-date agriculturist in the area than Mr. Home, he proved his ability in the public service as a well as in the management of his private affairs.
