T. E. Losee
After an illness of about three weeks duration, Thomas Erford Losee died at ten o'clock at the family residence on South Seventh street.
For several years Mr. Losee had been a sufferer with a severe stomach disorder but only a short time ago, did the malady gain such proportions as to cause alarm. All that surgical skill and good nursing could do was done for him, but without avail and death resulted in the hour named. Mr. Losee was born in Mt. Vernon, Mississippi forty-four years ago. His mother was a Miss Bell of that state, a member of a prominent old-time southern family. His father was from the eastern states. When two years of age, his parents moved to Dallas where he grew to manhood and married. Removing to Temple eleven years ago, he has lived here ever since and during the entire time has been an employee of the F. L. Goodwin Saddlery and Harness establishment, as an expert collar maker.
He was a good neighbor, a kind friend and a valued citizen. In infancy he was baptized in the Methodist church for which he always retained a strong affection. He was prominent in the work of the Maccabee Lodge and was Past Commander of the Temple Tent. A widow and eight children, a stepmother, Mrs. W. S. Losee of Dallas, a sister, Mrs. George Gaynor of Gainesville, two brothers, James Losee of California and Sam Losee of Dallas are left to mourn his loss.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the family residence, 907 South Seventh street by Rec. J. E. Green of the First Presbyterian church, assisted by Rev. B. A. Hodges of Grace Presbyterian church. The body will then be carried to the First Presbyterian church where services will be held under the auspices of the Prairie Queen Tent No. 7, K. O. T. M. Interment will take place in the City Cemetery. The pall bearers will be selected from the K. O. T. M. at a meeting at 2 p.m.
