Tom B. Bark Passes Away
Had Been Leader in this Community 50 years
Sutherland Courier- Tom B. Bark, banker, business man and land owner of Sutherland for almost sxity years, passed away at his home near here Monday evening, April 15, after a short illness.
For over half a centruy he had been a leader in this community, knowing full well its joys and sorrows almost from the day of its birth knowing full well the loyalties and animosities which cut across the cloth of its existance for that hafl century, felling them, enjoying them, suffering them.
Funeral services for Mr. Bark were hld at the home Wednesday afternoon with Rev. A.A. Howe giving a short funeral sermone and L.O. Lampman of Primghar the Masonic burial service. Members of the Sutherland Masonic lodge attended in a body and a representation from the Knight Templars of cherokee was also in attendance.
Following the services, the body of the deceased was taken to the Reiste Funeral Home and tonight will be taken to Des Moines for crematin according to the wishes of the deceased.
Pall bearers were P.B. Briggs, D.J. Briggs, C.A. Jenner, Elry Cooper, Elmer Sweeney and Wendell Sweeney.
