On 9 Jun 1900, William C. Baxter, 33, was residing with his wife of 12 years, Caroline, 34, and children, Caroline F., 9, and William G., 7, in a rented home at 1549 First Avenue in Watervliet, Albany County, New York. William was a coal merchant and was born in Jan 1867 in New York, as was his father, his mother in England. Caroline was born in b May 1866 in New York, as were her parents, and she had given birth to 3 children with 2 living. Caroline was born in Aug 1890 and William in Nov 1892, both in New York, and they were both at school.[1900 Federal Census]

Late residence was 1803 Third Avenue, Watervliet. Son of William E. Baxter and Olive Longstaff Baxter. Husband of Caroline A. Graham Baxter. Father of Mrs. Ralph E. Bold, William G. and Frank L. Baxter. Interment 3 Jan 1939 in the Baxter & Graham plot, section 104, lot 176.[Albany Rural Cemetery Burial Card B-523]
