On 9 Jun 1900, William C. Baxter, 33, was residing with his wife of 12 years, Caroline, 34, and children, Caroline F., 9, and William G., 7, in a rented home at 1549 First Avenue in Watervliet, Albany County, New York. William was a coal merchant and was born in Jan 1867 in New York, as was his father, his mother in England. Caroline was born in b May 1866 in New York, as were her parents, and she had given birth to 3 children with 2 living. Caroline was born in Aug 1890 and William in Nov 1892, both in New York, and they were both at school.[1900 Federal Census]
