In 1820 & 1830 Census, George's father (Joel Clough) is shown in Fabius, Onondaga County, New York
1850 Census in Grand Blanc, Genesee, MI shows George unmarried and lists occupation as Carpenter.
1860 Census in Holly, Oakland, MI: George is married to Lucretia Eliot and lists occupation as Farmer
Moved to Mower County, MN in spring of 1866 (after Civil War) in a covered wagon with five kids. They crossed Lake Michigan on a ferry.
1870 Census in Mower Co, MN George is listed as farmer. Married to Lucretia, 6 kids, youngest Frank age 2 born MN.
Served in MN State Senate as Republican in 1878 (District 4). Was a JP and also worked as Surveyor in Mower county
1880 Census in Mower Co, MN as farmer. Married to Lucretia, 6 kids still living at home.
George & family moved from Mower County to Faribault County in the fall of 1884. First Wife Lucretia died 3 March 1885.
Second Marriage to Sabine Andrews on 3 Nov 1886
Death record shows death in Wells, Faribault, Minnesota on 11 Apr 1912
