High School: Forest Park High School, Forest Park, Ga.
College: University of Georgia where he sought a degree in consumer economics
Outside Interest: Has been an advocate for the social acceptance of foreigners in Korea
Family: Married to the former Lindsey Georgalas (Georgalas-Ward) and he has one son, Jaden
Notables: Played high school, college and NFL football without an anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, which he lost in a childhood (4th grade) bicycle accident. He has been an advocate for the social acceptance of foreigners in Korea
- Began the 2021 season as a special assistant to the head coach and as an assistant to the wide receivers coach; however, by season's end he had been elevated to the wide receivers coach
- Worked with a unit that saw the emergence of Je'Quan Burton who ended his first season at FAU ranked No. 27 nationally with 17.89 yards per catch
- Served as an offensive assistant on Adam Gase’s
- Worked with Jets wide receiver coach Shawn Jefferson
- Interned with the Steelers during the 2017 training camp – Bill Walsh coaching intern
- Caught 1,000 passes for 12,083 yards and 85 scores with the Steelers during his 15-year playing career
- The 1998 NFL third round pick was named Super Bowl XL MVP
- Member of two Super Bowl Championship teams (XL and XLIII)
- Is the Steelers’ all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown receptions
- Four-time Pro Bowl selection (2001-04)
- Three-time Second Team All-Pro selection (2002-04
- Member of the Pittsburgh Steelers All-Time Team
- Most prolific season came in 2002 with 112 receptions for 1329 yards and 12 TDs
- Considered one the league’s best blockers
- Career-long reception was an 85-yarder in 2005

- Played in the 1998 Outback Bowl and the 1995 Peach Bowl
- Tallied 149 catches for 1,965 yards which placed him second all-time in UGA history
- Also saw time as a tailback, and totaled 3,870 all-purpose yards, second only to Herschel Walker at UGA
- In 1996, had 52 receptions for 900 yards, and ran 26 times for 170 yards
- In 1997, hauled in 55 passes for 715 yards and scored six touchdowns and had 30 carries for 223 yards
- Played some quarterback his sophomore year, and holds Georgia bowl game records for pass attempts, pass completions, and passing yards in the 1995 Peach Bowl in which he completed 31 of 59 passes for 413 yards
- Final two seasons were primarily at receiver
- Was a two-time Clayton County Offensive Player of the year where he played quarterback
