HashSet
HashSet Iterator example
This is an example of how to obtain aHashSetIterator, that is an iterator over the elements of the HashSet. Obtaining a HashSet Iterator implies that you should:
- Create a newHashSet.
- Populate the hashSet with elements, using
add(E e)API method of HashSet. - Invoke
iterator()API method of HashSet. The method returns theIterator over the elements in this hashSet. - Iterate over the elements of the HashSet, using
hasNext()andnext()API method of Iterator.
Let’s take a look at the code snippet that follows:
package com.javacodegeeks.snippets.core; import java.util.HashSet;import java.util.Iterator; public class HashSetIteratorExample { public static void main(String[] args) { // Create a HashSet and populate it with elements HashSet hashSet = new HashSet(); hashSet.add("element_1"); hashSet.add("element_2"); hashSet.add("element_3"); // To get the Iterator use the iterator() operation Iterator it = hashSet.iterator(); System.out.println("Elements in HashSet :"); while(it.hasNext())System.out.println(it.next()); }}Output:
Elements in HashSet :element_1element_2element_3
This was an example of how to obtain a HashSet Iterator in Java.
