It’s been nearly 11 years since the release ofAmanda Leigh in 2009, and nowMandy Moore is finally ready to reveal everything she’s been working on.

TheThis Is Us star gave fans a taste in September with the unveiling of “When I Wasn’t Watching.” On Tuesday, Moore gave us… well,more with the unveiling of her new album,Silver Landings, and a fresh music video to accompany one of its tracks, “Save a Little For Yourself.”

“Sometimes writing a song feels like giving myself the advice I know I need the most and it’s often the hardest to heed,” the pop singer said in a statement. “It makes the song almost a mantra of sorts — something I know I’ll continue learning because it bears repeating. ‘Save a Little for Yourself’ is sort of the other half of a love song that we don’t always talk about or acknowledge. Sure, we should open ourselves up, let people in and love them as wholly as possible but none of that carries any water if we’re not taking care of ourselves first and foremost. It might not be as romantic, but it’s an equally important part of the equation.”

As for the album, arriving March 6, its title comes from the final track, which happens to be the last song she wrote for the album. “Reaching for golden ribbons up in the air/But I’m looking for silver landings,” the lyrics to this titular song read.

Before Moore made a forceful push away from music and into acting, which garnered her an Emmy nomination for the always tearjerkingThis Is Us, she was known in the ’90s and early ’00s for more upbeat, pop-y songs like “Candy” and “Crush,” in addition to movie soundtrack melodies like “I Wanna Be With You” fromCenter Stage and “Only Hope” fromA Walk to Remember(in which she also starred).

WithSilver Landings, Moore says she “wanted to make a very California-sounding record — something that feels sunshiny and airy and natural, something you could listen to driving up and down the PCH with all the windows rolled down on a beautiful weekend day.” The results, as teased in “When I Wasn’t Watching” and “Save a Little For Yourself,” lean more into folk.

On top of the music itself, Moore announced she’s taking the album on tour in 2020, beginning on March 20 at the Bendeum Center in Pittsburgh. This North American jaunt will finish at the Gothic Theatre in Denver on May 9.
