Using content and/or media owned by the UC Museum of Paleontology requires adherence to theCreative Commons license.

The UE website may contain content and/or media for which the UCMP does not own the copyright. In these instances, we post the corresponding information on copyright and permitted uses.

Noncommercial use

We allow free use of individual media components created by or owned by the UCMP for noncommercial and educational purposes (e.g., in-class use of images or limited text by a teacher or student, or reproducing an image in a lab manual that will be provided to students at-cost).

We ask that the work be credited with the following: © UC Museum of Paleontology Understanding Evolution,www.understandingevolution.org. If you wish to reproduce many images or multiple webpages of content, please contactuewebmaster@berkeley.edu for permission.

We do not require notification of use, however, we ask that we be notified of such use so we may include it in our statistics. You can let us know about your noncommercial use of our media by emailing uewebmaster@berkeley.edu.

Commercial use

The UCMP charges use fees for commercial use of media, including for use in publications, exhibitions, or distribution in any format (print or digital). Requests with large distribution and/or high exposure may be subject to higher fees. These fees support the UCMP’s public outreach mission, which includes the maintenance of and creating new content on the UE website. Requests for commercial use may be sent to uewebmaster@berkeley.edu.

All rights remain with the UCMP.
