Accomplishments.
Happy November, everybody! It's crazy how quickly time flies. As you all know, I've been chipping away at Chapter 13 slowly but surely for these past few months. And while I don't have any confidence that I'll complete it by the end of the year, getting it ready for release in time for the game's fifth anniversary (end of February) is my new goal! Thank you all for being so patient with me. This has become a monster of a chapter and is growing to a size that I never thought I'd ever see, so it's been quite a lot for me to handle.
That said, in the month of October, I managed to complete Rylan's route, so I only have two left: N and K! As I said in the last update, Rylan's route has been completely different from [A]'s and Blane's. It was a breath of fresh air writing an RO as mysterious as Rylan, but also extremely frustrating. While they reveal a lot about themself in their romance lock, Rylan still has a lot of secrets they hold close to their chest. I was happy to write more details about how they received their bounty, though—that's the one thing I thought for sure needed to be discussed. After all, why would you agree to romance someone if you thought they could possibly be a murderer?
That was only a small portion of their scene, however. Especially towards the end, Rylan gets extremely vulnerable in a way that's never been seen before. And that's my favourite part about this chapter. You get to see sides of the ROs that wouldn't normally be revealed, and really dive into what makes each character who they are. After you've chosen someone to romance (or become closer with platonically), more and more tidbits will be revealed to you as the story progresses. From things like their history, to their familial relationships, to their goals in the future—I want to add it all. As someone who is a very character-oriented writer, I'm really excited. This chapter has been my favourite thus far; I have a feeling you'll have a lot of fun playing through it.
As for the rest of the year, the goal is to get as much writing done for N and K as possible, leaving room for editing in January and testing in February. I don't have an exact date for when the chapter might come out, but I hope you stick around for when I figure it out. Again, thank you all for the endless support. I appreciate it more than you know! Absolutely cannot wait to see how it all comes together! I'm cheering you on all the way! (This game has permanently altered my brain chemistry) Your writing is absolutely to die for and I've replayed this game about ten times in the past two months! You are truly an artist and I wish you luck in the coming months!
