Turncoat
Turncoat debate was one of the newest addition to the list of cultural events of Encomium. The idea of literally debating with oneself intrigued many minds. The event had 2 rounds; in the first round the participants had to challenge oneself to debate. The second round was where the things got heated up. The shortlisted candidates were made to sit in a cyclic order. Firstly, the participants had to denounce the points introduced by the preceding member and only then they were allowed to express their own views and opinions. The event received positive remarks from the participants and the audience. Prof. Satya Prakash were the judge for the debate. He said, "Turncoat debate is an interesting format of debate. It should be widely publicised, so that, more students can participate." He also encouraged the organisers to keep Turncoat debate as an event for next year's edition of Encomium.
