Richard Ford (Jackson,Mississippi,1944kootsailaren 16a) estatubatuar eleberrigile eta ipuingilea da.
Hemeretzi urterekin tren-makinetako ingeniari laguntzaile lanetan hasi zen. Michigango Estatuko Unibertsitatean graduatu zen ingelesez, eta gero marine-etan sartu zen, nahiz eta hepatitisa hartu ondoren utzi behar izan zuen. Hainbat unibertsitatetan ere irakatsi zuen.
