Album salvestati enne albumit "Abbey Road", kuid see jäeti avaldamata, sest ansambli liikmed ei olnud sellega rahul. Algselt oli kavas albumi nimeks panna "Get Back". Pärast "Abbey Roadi" ilmumist produtseerisPhil Spector albumi uuesti ja sellest sai The Beatlesi viimane stuudioalbum.
2003. aastal ilmus albumi versioon "Let It Be... Naked", millel on lood algsel kujul, ilma Phil Spectori töötluseta.
