Nathaniel Thomas Wilson (Queens,Nueva York; 20 de julio de 1968), más conocido por su nombre de escenarioKool G Rap, o simplementeG Rap, y originalmente conocido comoKool Genius of Rap, es unrapero estadounidense de lacosta este. Este se mudó desde el barrio deCorona aQueens. Comenzó su carrera a mediados de los años 80s, donde en el mismo periodo junto a DJ Polo formó un dueto llamadoKool G Rap & DJ Polo, donde luego se unieron al grupoJuice Crew, en donde destacaban raperos comoBig Daddy Kane,Biz Markie,Marley Marl yMC Shan.
Kool G Rap es a menudo citado como uno de los raperos más influyentes y expertos MCs de todos los tiempos.,[1] como uno de los pioneros delmafioso rap/street/hardcore y básicamente el creador de las rimas multisilábicas.[2] En su álbumThe Giancana Story, este nos explica que la "G" de su apodo es por "Giancana" (referencia al gánsterSam Giancana), pero en ocasiones él se refiere a esta como la abreviación de "Genio".[3]
