  • The first sample sentence (Du ska få en peng) gives evidence of a rare exception where the singular ofpeng is used to mean money, and not a coin. Another example isveckopeng/månadspeng, meaning weekly/monthly allowance. However, compounds are formed with the ancient plural genitivepenga-.
