Etymology

Hinde (1904) recordsmuhu as an equivalent of Englishashes in “Jogowini dialect” of Kikuyu, listing alsoKambamūū andSwahiliivu (pl.maivu) as its equivalents.[1]

Pronunciation

As for Tonal Class, Benson (1964) classifies this term into Class 3 with a monosyllabic stem, together withrũkũ, and so on.
