FromSpanishgustar(“to like”) +-tu.
gustatu zaio (imperfect participlegustatzen,future participlegustatuko,short formgusta,verbal noungustatze)
As in the Spanish verb from which this term is borrowed, the subject and object ofgustatu are seemingly reversed from those ofto like. That is, the subject ofgustatu is the thing that pleases and the (indirect) object is the person who is pleased.
