Perhaps fromblackedy(characteristically black) +‎black, with reduplication serving to intensify or stress the focus on beingblack (i.e. African-American);blackedy being equivalent toblacked +‎-y; or alternatively a corruption ofblackedly black. Compareblacked up. For the spelling with-ity, see-ety, -ity.
