A theoreticalorbital zone around astar that will result in anEarth-like planet existing in an orbit in the zone having a runawaygreenhouse effect, similar to that found onVenus in ourSolar System. The inner edge of the zone is wheresolar radiation is intense enough to strip theatmosphere of aplanet away. The outer edge is where solar radiation is insufficient to power a runaway greenhouse.
