{{surface etymology}} or{{surface analysis}} (as the name suggests) is for showing thesurface etymology of a term with prior wording. It can also be used for showing surface-analysedcompounds (where no component is anaffix), as an alternative to{{compound}} or{{affix}}. Categories are also added.

• |nocap=1 — to uncapitalise the first letter.
• All parameters in{{affix}} except|langN=.
• One may call another type of word-formation using+ and the name of the appropriate template, as listedhere (shortcuts also work).
