It says it is a symbol for litre (unit). AIUI, this is just a script version of the letterl. All Wikipedia says is that it is "sometimes used in mathematics and elsewhere" (e.g.ℓ-adic representations).Equinox00:00, 10 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

I have definitely seen this in use... —CodeCat00:41, 10 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
Itis a script version ofl, but it's used, just likel is. It's tedious to search for, but one book suggests it's most common in the US, Japan and Greece.- -sche(discuss)20:43, 11 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
RFV-failed for now, sense (re)moved: the entry now says "script version of l", and "l" is an abbreviation for liter, so the information is still there, people just have to click through to [[l]].- -sche(discuss)05:10, 12 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

I must say that the letter is also used in Thailand's appliances like cooking pot and measure cup. --Octahedron80 (talk)05:44, 18 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
