In English,determiner is aclass ofwords that occur with nouns, and serve to specify the entity or entities the noun refers to. Determiners include articles such as "a" and "the", cardinal numbers such as "two", possessives such as "my", demonstratives such as "this", quantifiers such as "many" and "no", distributive determiners such as "each", and interrogative determiners such as "which".
Some theories of grammar consider determiners to be adjectives or pronouns. Ordinal numerals are generally considered to be adjectives.
