| For pronunciation and definitions of付 – see傅 (“teacher;instructor; toassist; etc.”). (This character is the second-round simplified form of傅). |
Notes:
|
付 was included as the simplified form of傅(fù) in thesecond round of simplification in 1977. The current standard in Mainland China, theTable of General Standard Chinese Characters (通用规范汉字表), does not mention that付 is a simplification of傅(fù).A Dictionary of Current Chinese (现代汉语词典) and theXinhua Dictionary (新华字典) list付 as a separate entry from傅(fù) (unlike other variants, which are usually put beside the main character in parentheses) and define付 as a common variant for傅(fù), whileXiandai Hanyu Guifan Cidian (《现代汉语规范词典》) proscribes the use of付 as the simplified form of傅(fù).
Similar to the surnames肖 and蕭/萧, the surname付(fù) and傅 were also originally distinct, and付(fù) was originally a rare surname. The modern surname付(fù) is mostly due to second-round simplification of Chinese characters.
| For pronunciation and definitions of付 – see副 (“subsidiary,auxiliary;sub-;vice-;auxiliaryposition;deputyofficer; etc.”). (This character is the second-round simplified and variant form of副). |
