Fontevrault (more fully,Fontevrault-L'Abbaye) is an historic town in theLoire Valley region ofFrance.

• Fontevraud Abbey.Abbaye Royale de Fontevraud. The burial place of several Plantagenet rulers ofEngland and various French duchies, including Henry II, Richard I the Lionheart and Eleanor of Aquitaine. Their painted effigies are displayed in the nave of the abbey.
