IMMORALITY, in general, a course ofconduct at variance with the accepted standardsof a community, and more especially those of asexual character. Until recent times the lawexcept in a few instances took no cognizanceof immoral acts which in their consequencesaffect only the immediate participants, but thepresent tendency everywhere appears to be theextension of the law to regulate the privatelives of persons, subjecting at the same timeall offenders to legal penalties.
