We have a Lua module error on the Main page under Current Collaborations. --EncycloPetey (talk)03:18, 1 August 2021 (UTC)

How can new proverbs, recently published by ordinary people, be added to this database? I have a file of 300 beautiful proverbs, and they are translated into seven languages, and I have been given permission to publish them, please.ששון (talk)22:18, 1 August 2021 (UTC)https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Wikisource:Scriptorium#New_proverbs
Could we make a link for "US Law" under "Highlights" that links toPortal:Law of the United States?Lizardcreator (talk)20:51, 23 March 2022 (UTC)
Does anyone know hot to link to a Wikisource document from Wikipedia main without using a url address? In particular I'm trying to link toContinental Association. --Gwillhickers (talk)19:14, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
I took a new editor through the process of proofreading a page the other day, and I stumbled upon a problem: He couldn't figure out where to start. Obviously, it's not an insurmountable problem when you have an existing contributor to set you on the right path, but it is a problem for the casual person dropping by.
I'd like to suggest that we changeTemplate:Collaboration to include an invitation. Right now, it only says "The project is X" with a status report, and I think it would be better to add something that says something like "You can help with this project today byreading the directions andproofreading part of the current text".
The Challenge and POTM pages would also benefit from updating some of their impersonal language (e.g., "Each month, the Wikisource community selects a few texts to proofread and validate" – Newcomers do not feel like they are part of "the Wikisource community", so this sounds like "Each month, somebody who isnot you selects a few texts to proofread and validate").WhatamIdoing (talk)18:41, 14 July 2022 (UTC)
In the section Proofread of the Month - Recent Collaborations, the O. Henry collection is listed twice. I have no idea where that text is coming from, so cannot see if I can spot the error. --Beardo (talk)14:16, 16 February 2023 (UTC)
Comment our {{welcome}} message contains the pertinent information. I have place a copy on your user talk page. —billinghurstsDrewth12:36, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
How is this number generated? I assume it means unique works ie. a single-page speech is one work, a 20-page (chapter) novel is one work. --GreenC (talk)02:32, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
SELECTCOUNT(page_id)ASnumFROMpageWHEREpage_namespace=0ANDpage_is_redirect=0;. I could start ad hoc adding conditions to that along the lines ofpage.titleNOTLIKE"/", but then I should probably filter out disambiguation pages too first. And changing this number in any way drastically would need at least a warning to frWS, bnWS, itWS, napWS, paWS, plWS, and vecWS who all use it.But perhaps more fundamentally: why is that number "better" overall? If you filter out subpages you do get rid of a lot of "/Chapter 1" and "/Chapter 2". But you also put all 30+ volumes of the1911 Encyclopædia Britannica into 1 text. The same for the 48 volumes of theWaverley novels, each "chapter" of which is a full novel by Walter Scott. Then there are the numerous individual poems (which are distinct works) that exist as top-level pages in mainspace. We dowant to raise the standard and place things within the context in which they were originally published (i.e. our source for a poem is usually going to be a published collection in which the poem is a sub-part), but we're a long way away from that and other wikisourcen do not necessarily share that ambition.Measuring stuff ishard, is what I'm saying. :)Xover (talk)10:12, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Well, title. —Alien 3

I have entrusted my translation ofhttps://cs.m.wikisource.org/wiki/K%C5%A1aft_um%C3%ADraj%C3%ADc%C3%AD_matky_Jednoty_bratrsk%C3%A9 to English, because I believed Wikisource would be a trustworthy holder of the text. I was apparently wrong, because apparently there are vandals who under false reasons delete random articles on this site. I believe I have perfectly satisfied requirements byhttps://en.m.wikisource.org/wiki/Wikisource:Translations#Wikisource_original_translations but apparently it is more fun to vandalise random pages.Ceplm (talk)10:55, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
