The best way of knowing God is to love many things. Love this friend, this person, this thing, whatever you like, and you will be on the right road to understanding Him better, that is what I keep telling myself. But you must love with a sublime, genuine, profound sympathy, with devotion, with intelligence, and you must try all the time to understand Him more, better and yet more. ~Vincent van Gogh

Laughter is wine for the soul – laughter soft, or loud and deep, tinged through with seriousness. Comedy and tragedy step through life together, arm in arm, all along, out along, down along lea. I'm sure you saw the news today that theRussian military command allegedly decided to "reduce hostilities in the directions of Kyiv and Chernihiv." ... I am grateful to all our defenders, to all those who ensure the defense of Kyiv. It is their brave and effectiveactions that force the enemy to retreat in this direction.
However, we should not lose vigilance. Thesituation has not become easier. The scale of thechallenges has not diminished. The Russian army still has significant potential to continue attacks againstour state. They still have a lot of equipment and enough people completely deprived ofrights whom they can send to the cauldron ofwar.
Therefore, we stay alert and do not reduce our defense efforts.

I dream my painting, and then I paint my dream. ~Vincent van Gogh (born March 30)(Question: Is there a better way to suggest a quote than to add it by clicking on the "edit" link so the time stamp and the name of the person suggesting a quote also shows? And how to vote on suggestions?)—Thisunsigned comment is by9lisa9 (talkcontribs) .

  • I have added a signature of your username to your suggestion. Despite liking this statement, I believed the attribution dubious when I first encountered it in recent years — but had not gotten around to even beginning to sufficiently investigate it for early sourcing until now. The ultimately unsourced attribution to Van Gogh seems to have only become common in recent years, and the earliest attribution I have yet located occurred in the 1990s. Prior to that, for many years, at least since 1908 a nearly identical remark was attributed toJean-Baptiste-Camille Corot. I will attempt to further investigate the history of the attributions in the coming day — and modify the Van Gogh page accordingly. In place of the dubious attribution I am suggesting another by Van Gogh that I have just now sufficiently sourced to his published letters. ~♌︎Kalki⚓︎ 00:04, 30 March 2021 (UTC)
