Zoran Kokot (Serbian Cyrillic: Зоран Кокот; born June 28, 1985) is a Bosnian retiredfootballer who played as aforward.

Career

Early career

Kokot began his career in 2004 withSlavija in theBosnian Premier League.[2] In 2007, he played abroad in theOntario Soccer League with the Hamilton Serbians, where he finished as the top goalscorer in the Provincial West Division.[3]

Shortly after, he signed with theSerbian White Eagles in theCanadian Soccer League, where he assisted in securing the International Division title.[4][5] In the opening round of the playoffs, the Serbs defeated the Windsor Border Stars, where Kokot contributed a goal.[6] Kokot scored another goal in the semifinal round againstTrois-Rivières Attak, which advanced the Serbs to thechampionship finals.[7] In the championship final, the Serbs were defeated byToronto Croatia in a two-game series.[8]

Abroad

After a season abroad, he returned to FK Slavija and later played in theBelgian Second Division withKSK Beveren.[9][10] In May 2011, he signed withMes Sarcheshme in theAzadegan League.[11] The following season, he played withGol Gohar Sirjan F.C.[12][13]

Bosnia

In 2012, he returned to FK Slavija and played withFK Olimpik.[14][15] He played the first part of the2014-15 season with Slavija. In February 2015, he signed a one-year contract withŽeljezničar Sarajevo.[16] Throughout his tenure with Željezničar, he played in the2015–16 UEFA Europa League againstBalzan F.C.,Ferencvárosi TC, andStandard Liège. He left Željezničar on mutual terms in December 2015.[17] After that, he had another stint abroad, this time in theMontenegrin First League withMladost Podgorica, where he assisted in securing the league title.[18]

The following season he returned home to sign a one-year contract withVitez.[19] In 2017, he played in theFirst League of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina withZvijezda Gradačac.[20] The remainder of the season, he played withTravnik.[21][22] He returned to his former club Slavija the following season to play in theFirst League of the Republika Srpska, and retired in 2019.[23][24]

Later career

In 2020, he came out of retirement to play once more in the Canadian Soccer League withHamilton City.[25] He debuted for Hamilton on August 15, 2020, against his former team, the Serbian White Eagles, and recorded a goal.[26] Following his brief stint in Canada, he returned to Bosnia by playing in theSecond League of the Republika Srpska withFamos Vojkovići in 2021.[27] In his debut season with Famos, the club secured promotion to the second tier.[28]

International career

In December 2010,Bosnia national team coachSafet Sušić called him up for a friendly (the Bosnian team was comprised almost exclusively ofdomestic league players) againstPoland.[29][30]

Managerial career

In the summer of 2023, he became the assistant coach forFamos Vojkovići underDarko Vojvodić.[31]
