Zio Ziegler (born 1988) is an American visual artist. He is known best for his paintings and murals, many of which appear in theMission District of San Francisco,[ 1] [ 2] [ 3]
Early life and education [ edit ] Ziegler's parents areMel and Patricia Ziegler , the founders ofBanana Republic . Ziegler studied art atBrown University , and theRhode Island School of Design ,[ 4]
Mural by Zio Ziegler in London Ziegler is known for both painting and murals, stating that his paintings are mainly inspired by Literature, French Modernism, and Architecture.[ 5]
Ziegler's murals can be seen on buildings worldwide such as Tokyo, Los Angeles, London, Italy, and more.[ 6] Cathedral Building inOakland, California , commissioned by theUnited Nations Foundation to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the signing of theUnited Nations Charter ,.[ 7] [ 8] [ 9]
Ziegler's work is held in institutions including theRubell Museum , Longlati Foundation,Collecion Solo ,Georgia Museum of Art , and thePhoenix Art Museum .[ 10]
Ziegler is an adjunct professor in the Stanford d.school.[ 11]
