Zenazocine (INN;WIN-42,964) is anopioidanalgesic of thebenzomorphan family which made it tophase IIclinical trials before development was ultimately halted and it was never marketed.[1][2] It acts as apartial agonist of theμ- andδ-opioid receptors, with lessintrinsic activity at the former receptor and more at the latter receptor (hence, it behaves moreantagonistically at the former and moreagonistically at the latter), and producesantinociceptive effects in animal studies.[1]
