Zaven Andriasian (sometimestransliterated asAndriasyan;Armenian:Զավեն Անդրիասյան; born March 11, 1989)[1] is anArmenianchessGrandmaster and former World Junior Chess Champion.
He won the 2005European Youth Chess Championship for under-16[2] and the 2006World Junior Chess Championship.[3] The latter victory automatically earned him the title of Grandmaster (GM). In November 2010 he won the Russian Cup Final after defeatingArtyom Timofeev in the second game of the final.[4] In January 2012 he came second in the ArmenianChess960 Championship.[5] In December 2012 he shared first withAlexander Kovchan andSipke Ernst in theGroningen Chess Festival.[6] In 2016 Andriasian won theArmenian Chess Championship.[7]
