Zahav (Hebrew:זהב,romanizedzahav,lit.'gold') is anIsraeli restaurant inPhiladelphia founded in 2008. It is managed by head chefMichael Solomonov.[1][2][3]

History

Solomonov's preparation ofhummus, which he dubbed "hummus tehina", served at Zahav.

Zahav received theJames Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Restaurant in 2019[4] and was listed as one of the 100 Best Wine Restaurants in the United States byWine Enthusiast in 2015.[5]

Zahav's pomegranate lamb shoulder with chickpeas is regarded as the restaurant's signature dish.[6][7] It was created in 2006 and is loosely based off of another signature dish, thebossam fromDavid Chang'sMomofuku Ssam Bar.[8]
