Zêkog County (Tibetan:རྩེ་ཁོག་རྫོང,Tibetan pronunciation:[tse˥˥kʰo˥˨],Amdo Tibetan pronunciation:[(ʂ)tsekʰok];Chinese:泽库县) is the second largest administrative subdivision by area withinHuangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in easternQinghai Province, China, borderingGansu to the east. The county has an area of 6,658 square kilometres or 2,571 square miles and a population of ~50,000 (2001), mainlyTibetan. Thecounty seat is the town ofChak Qu, whose altitude is approximately 3,700 metres or 12,100 feet above sea level.
