Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos (born 6 August 1995), known professionally asYung Filly or simplyFilly, is a BritishYouTuber and rapper. Born in Colombia and later moving to the United Kingdom, he began hisYouTube career in 2013, starting a music career in 2017. Beginning in 2018, he appeared on numerousBBC shows, several of which he hosted.

Early life

Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos was born inCali, Colombia.[3] At the age of two, he moved toLondon as a refugee with his mother and sister.[4] The family moved around betweenCatford,Kidbrooke,Deptford,Ladywell andNew Cross, before eventually settling inOrpington,Bromley.[5][6] He attendedConisborough College.[7] After completingYear 11, he briefly moved back to Colombia to play football for a team inBarranquilla, but later quit.[6]

Career

Valencia Barrientos began hisYouTube career in 2013.[3][5] His content comprised short skits and comedy Q&As.[8] As well as building his own channel, Valencia Barrientos regularly appears on Footasylum's YouTube channel, starring in the dating seriesDoes The Shoe Fit,[9][10] as well as on Pro:Direct Soccer's YouTube channel. In 2018, he hostedHot Property onBBC Three;[11] the show was described byThe Guardian as "so youthful...that it should come with a new kind of 18 certificate".[12] In 2019, he hosted another show on BBC Three titledDon't Scream.[13]

He appeared for England inSoccer Aid 2020;[1][3] during the game, he scored a goal.[14] He also appeared on the first episode of a football rivalry series alongsideChunkz, which was aired onBBC Sport.[15] In 2021, He appeared on the first episode ofRace Around Britain, hosted byMunya Chawawa.[16] In 2022, it was announced that Valencia Barrientos and Chawawa would co-host a spin-off show ofFreeze the Fear with Wim Hof, titledMunya and Filly Get Chilly.[17][18] He also appeared onThe Great Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off and BBC'sWould I Lie To You?[19]

He and fellow content creatorHarry Pinero partnered withGerman Doner Kebab andHeinz to develop a sauce called Secret Sauce, which was released in September 2024.[20][21] In October 2024, he partnered withthe FA andM&S Food for an online cooking series titledFreestyle Cooking, which was to feature footballersBukayo Saka,Ezri Konsa, andJarrod Bowen. However, the campaign was pulled one day after its release, following Valencia Barrientos's rape and assault charges on 10 October 2024.[22][23]

Valencia Barrientos is a frequent collaborator with the Beta Squad, a YouTube collective also run by British content creators. He has also appeared in videos with theSidemen.[24][25] He is represented byUTA.[26]

Music career

Valencia Barrientos cites his Colombian background andgrime music as big influences on his music career.[27] In 2017, he released his debut single, "Take Time".[28] He would release two songs in 2018, "La Paila" and "Mucho Mas".[29][30] He released "Confidence" in 2020, featuring Chunkz andGeko.[31] He would release two other songs with Chunkz in 2020, "Clean Up" and "Hold",[32][33] which peaked at number 67 and 29 on theUK Singles Chart, respectively.[34][35] He also featured on Javan's "Again".[36]

He released "100 Bags Freestyle" in 2021.[37] He also announced a mixtape titledLast Laugh in an interview withGRM Daily.[38] In 2022, he released a new single titled "Long Time"[39] and later "Day to Day", featuring fellow British rapper and songwriterChip.[1][40] In 2024, he released two singles, "Grey" and "Tempted".[27][41]

Personal life

Valencia Barrientos is a supporter ofCrystal Palace F.C.[3][42]

2024 arrest and sexual assault allegations

On 8 October 2024, while on tour in Australia, Valencia Barrientos was arrested inBrisbane after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in aPerth hotel room on 28 September.[3][43] He faces four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, and one count of impeding a person's normal breathing or circulation by applying pressure on or to their neck.[13][44] He was extradited to Perth on 9 October 2024.[19][45] He appeared at thePerth Magistrates' Court for his initial hearing on 10 October 2024, where he was granted conditional bail; enforcing a ban on discussing the case on social media and contacting the alleged victim.[46][47]

Barrientos appeared in Perth Magistrates Court for a second time on 11 March 2025. He pled not guilty to all charges, and given the date of 13 July to appear in theDistrict Court of Western Australia.[48][49]

On 24 March 2025, it was reported that Barrientos was involved in an ongoing separate sexual assault case of a British tourist in Magaluf. The incident was reported to have happened in the previous summer.[50][51]

Other legal issues

In December 2024, Valencia Barrientos was charged withreckless driving and had his vehicle impounded by police after he was caught driving 158km/h in a 100km/h zone the previous month.[52] He pled guilty to the charge.[53][54]
